In 2013, the O’Malley family were inspired by a documentary that they watched on the long-forgotten tradition of salt production on Achill Island. Afterwards, they began to produce sea salt in their home kitchen in that same traditional style, the high mineral content of the grade A wild Atlantic waters creating a unique taste and texture. Over the years they have innovated and expanded their business. Through sustainable techniques, they create a salt that adds an extra dimension to food.
